Jack O'Neill created a history by introducing wetsuits to the sports world. Jack O'Neill himself being a surfer knew the draw backs of surfing in cold water. Jack quickly started innovating things to battle with the cold water. He was unperturbed with his series of failures. Jack adhered to his spirit of innovation strongly. In the process he moved his surf shop down the coast from San Francisco to Santa Cruz. Expanding the shop, he introduced many other things along with wet suits.

A quite big invention hit the market with a bang. Jack's son Pat developed the leash, while testing that Jack lost his eye by accident. This proved a blessing in disguise! Jack started wearing an eye patch which became an icon!

O'Neill’s name is held with highest regards in improvements and inventions in the field of wetsuits. Spring suit, long john, short john wet suits are known far and wide. Today, wet suits of Jack O'Neill rule the roof! If you want to be warm in the severe cold water, then Jack O'Neill’s wet suits only are the next alternative!
